(I'd play Munk, but I don't really want to play both Munkustrap and Mistoffelees as this plot unfolds, as I think both would likely be too involved to focus enough on either one that way.)
MISTOFFELEES
As if on cue, Munkustrap rushed into the Junkyard only moments later, apparently in a hurry, and apparently also already alerted to the fact that his father was present. How news traveled so fast among Jellicles Mistoffelees wasn't sure he'd ever understand. But it didn't matter. He felt a small wave of relief wash over him at Munkustrap's entrance. He would know what to do, and additionally, it took the focus off of him at the moment.
He made his way over to Munkustrap as he came to a stop, glancing only briefly at the others as he went by. "Yes, he's here. Actually, he wants to see you. I can take you to him," he offered, answering the flustered tabby's question. He didn't quite succeed in wiping the look of concern from his face.
POUNCIVAL
Pouncival thought over Misto's vauge response for a moment. Something about it didn't quite seem right. He had a feeling the tuxedo tom knew more than he was telling, but that wasn't really a new occurence. Despite being around the same age, and being fairly good friends, there was a sort of mysteriousness to Mistoffelees that Pounce never seemed quite able to break through.
But before he could put his finger on exactly how he might probe further for more information, Munkustrap darted into the clearing in a hurry, commanding his attention. So something was up. He knew it. Of course, it wasn't unlike Munkustrap to be nervous or upset about something, but he seemed genuinely more concenred that Old Deuteronomy had come all the way out here. What surprised Pouncival was that he seemed, well, surprised. "You mean you don't know..." he started to ask Munkustrap, hoping he had been mistaken and perhaps he could shed some light on the subject, but again he was interrupted before his thought was fully formed.
Pouncival ducked instinctively, throwing his paws over his head as his brother came flying over him. Of course, he didn't realize it was Tumble right away, and let out a rather embarassing yelp of surprise as the other sailed towards him. When he did a neat flip and landed on the other side of him without colliding, however, it was clear to Pounce who it was He shot his brother a glare as he brought his paws back to his sides, using one of them to give him a good smack in the arm. He hated it when he snuck up on him like that. He made a mental note to get back at him for that later.
He rolled his eyes at Tumblebrutus' question, pushing his annoyance with his brother aside for the moment in lieu of his interest in what was going on. How could he be the only Cat in the 'Yard who didn't know what was going on by now. "Where have you been? Old Deuteronomy's back in the 'Yard. Everybody's being all secret about it. Misto knows something, but he's not telling, at least not yet."
